The “River of Hope” is a volunteer project dedicated to serving the people of New Orleans, the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Based in Minnesota, “River of Hope” volunteers have collected and shipped truckloads of supplies to New Orleans. We have traveled to the region several times and have worked in support of the people of the cities’ Ninth Ward and Saint Barnard’s Parish. While there, “River of Hope” volunteers have gutted damaged homes, begun the work of rebuilding homes, and have done extensive outreach to the people of the community.
All of this work has been made possible because of the generous donations to the “River of Hope” project by caring individuals and businesses. We continue to rely on donations to support our efforts.
This is where you can help us directly - use the DONATE NOW button on the left to make your tax-deductible donation. Help us bring hope to the people of New Orleans, the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
On September 21st, Dr. Rebecca Thomley visits "Sunday Journal" to talk about her return to New Orleans. Listen to a podcast of her visit via the archives at Wyld FM.
